Jack Talk Speakers Emily Ower Oakville, ON Emily Ower uses she/her pronouns and is a settler living on the unceded and stolen homelands of the x ∑m…ôŒ∏kw…ôyÃì…ôm (Musqueam), SkwxwuÃÅ7mesh (Squamish), and S…ôlÃìiÃÅlw…ôta î/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations in Vancouver BC. She's lived across Canada, growing up in Southern Ontario, studying English Lit and Neuroscience at McGill in Montreal, and most recently completing her MD in Calgary. She is now excited to be a resident physician in Family Medicine, and her specific interests include Indigenous health, substance use, and of course, youth mental health. She's proud to have been a part of Jack.org for 6 years now, and loves giving talks. In her spare time, you'll find her in the mountains or on the beach, skiing or hiking depending on the season.
