Summary

Promote an intersectional organization.

Explainer:

Mental health doesn’t happen in a vacuum. It’s impacted by the world around us. Gender, sexual orientation, climate, disability—you name it, there’s a way that it affects our mental health. If you’re volunteering for an organization that works to address the climate crisis, you’re also addressing climate anxiety! Good on you. There are plenty of amazing organizations out there doing work that helps mental health outcomes indirectly. Let’s build some bridges and help each other out.

Ideal for (but not limited to):

  • Young people connected to activism outside of the mental health sphere
  • Anyone interested in intersectional advocacy
  • Anyone looking to gain a better, richer understanding of how our mental health intersects with...well...everything
  • Groups of friends looking to do something different together

Potential impact:

  • Increased connectivity between different spheres of advocacy
  • Increased understanding of how mental health intersects with other issues
  • Increase mental health literacy
