  • What is National Jack Summit all about?

National Jack Summit is Jack.org’s largest programmatic event. It is typically held in Toronto each spring, but will be delivered virtually this year to prioritize the health of everyone participating. We bring 250 young leaders together -- leaders who are already doing amazing work in their communities to advance mental health advocacy -- to learn new skills, build on each other’s expertise, and unify their voices on a national scale. We do this through a variety of inspirational speakers, skill-building workshops, conversations with decision-makers, and collaborative brainstorms that focus on change-making, mental health leadership, and ensuring youth input is at the centre of every conversation. This way, we can create one, strong, youth-driven voice for mental health advocacy in Canada that can’t be ignored; and we unify a network of young leaders across the country from coast to coast to coast.

  • How are delegates chosen?

All delegates will be selected based on the quality of their application and their commitment to mental health advocacy. We prioritize existing members of our programs as well as folks who are new to Jack.org, especially over individuals who have had the opportunity to attend the National Jack Summit for two or more years in a row. We are also committed to diversity in our selection process and work to ensure a broad range of attendees.

  • Will it cost me anything to attend National Jack Summit?

No. Thanks to our generous sponsors and donors, the summit is free for all delegates this year. We do, however, welcome fundraising efforts, especially if any delegates have friends, family or colleagues who are looking to support their mental health advocacy work and/or the work of Jack.org. Guidance around how to successfully fundraise can be provided to anyone who’s looking for this support!

  • I have connectivity challenges or virtual accessibility needs - can I still participate in National Jack Summit 2021?
Absolutely. Our team is eager to help accommodate any challenges that you may face in participating in this event. You’ll be able to discuss your needs with our team in the weeks leading up to the summit, and any expenses required for your participation will be covered by Jack.org.
