FAQs

National Jack Summit

  • What is National Jack Summit all about?

National Jack Summit is Jack.org’s oldest and largest programmatic event held in Toronto each spring. We bring young leaders together -- leaders who are already doing amazing work in their communities to advance mental health advocacy -- to learn new skills, build on each other’s expertise, and unify their voices on a national scale. We do this through a variety of inspirational speakers, skill-building workshops, conversations with decision-makers, and collaborative brainstorms that focus on change-making, mental health leadership, and ensuring youth input is at the centre of every conversation. This way, we can create one, strong, youth-driven voice for mental health advocacy in Canada that can’t be ignored; and we unify a network of young leaders across the country from coast to coast to coast.

  • When and where is National Jack Summit 2023?
National Jack Summit will be taking place from Friday, March 17 to Sunday, March 19, 2023, in Toronto, Ontario.

Delegates will arrive on Friday, March 17, in the afternoon and depart in the evening on Sunday, March 19.
  • Will it cost me anything to attend?
No. Thanks to our generous sponsors and donors, the summit is free for all delegates this year. We do, however, welcome fundraising efforts, especially if any delegates have friends, family or colleagues who are looking to support their mental health advocacy work and/or the work of Jack.org. Guidance around how to successfully fundraise will be provided to all accepted delegates, for anyone interested!
  • When is the deadline to apply for National Jack Summit 2023?

The application is now open and closes at 11:59 pm EST on Sunday, December 11, 2023.

  • How do I go about booking my travel and accommodation?

Don’t worry; leave it to us! If you are accepted to attend the Summit, we will be working with local partners to secure everything on our end, including flights, local travel, hotel accommodation and more. So keep an eye on your email for these details and more.

  • Do I need to be vaccinated to attend?

Jack.org is committed to prioritizing the health & safety of delegates, invited guests, and other Summit attendees as we safely return to in-person events. To that end, we will continually monitor territorial/provincial public health guidelines and abide by all federal regulations as set out by the Government of Canada.

To ensure the safety of everyone attending our events, Jack.org will be mandating proof of vaccination at all internally run events this year, including our National Jack Summit. This means you will need to be vaccinated with at least two doses of the following accepted vaccines as outlined by the Public Health Agency of Canada.

For more information about our policy around COVID-19, please see this one-pager. If you have received a medical exemption, or have any other concerns with this policy, please reach out to westernsummit@jack.org to speak to a member of our team.

  • Who can apply to National Jack Summit?
Young people aged 18+ from across Canada. Students and non-students are encouraged to apply!
  • How are delegates chosen?
All delegates will be selected based on their application quality and commitment to mental health advocacy. We prioritize existing members of our programs as well as folks who are new to Jack.org. We are also committed to diversity in our selection process and work to ensure a broad range of attendees.
