Julia was most recently the founding CEO of the Canadian Children's Literacy Foundation, a national advocate for initiatives enabling Canada’s children to become the most literate in the world. She was previously CEO of Futurpreneur Canada. 
 
Julia's career has been dedicated to connecting people to opportunities.  She has a passion for entrepreneurship and for not-for-profit causes that inspire growth, collaboration, and positive change.
 
Julia currently sits on the boards of Investeco, George Brown College and the Canada Post Community Foundation. She has been recognized as one of WXN’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women in 2014 and 2017, received the YWCA Toronto Woman of Distinction Award and the Pearson Centre for Progressive Policy Progressive Leadership Award in 2018, and named a 2012 Woman of Influence Canadian Diversity Champion. She holds a B.A.(Hons) from Queen's University, a Master of Public Administration from Columbia University, and a J.D./L.L.B from Osgoode Hall Law School.
