Lesly Tayles was appointed Senior Vice President, Ontario Region at Scotiabank in November 2020. She is responsible for defining and implementing the strategic direction and goals for the region, and for executing key initiatives for the branch retail and small business network. Lesly joined Scotiabank in December 2017, relocating to Vancouver as Senior Vice President, British Columbia & Yukon Region. Under her leadership, both the BC and Ontario regions have consistently delivered top tier business results, all while ensuring the teams "think like a customer while acting like an owner".

Lesly brings more than 25 years’ experience in banking, having held progressively more senior roles within various banking areas including Customer Contact Centre, Branch Banking, Small Business Banking, Commercial, Wealth Management, IT & Process Project Management, and Learning Program Development.

Lesly is passionate about ensuring that Scotiabank builds and sustains a culture that celebrates diversity, equity, and inclusion, and focuses on sourcing and developing dynamic talent to build high performing teams. Lesly is one of the founding members of the Canadian Banking Inclusion Council and was recently made the Co-Chair. She is dedicated to investing in others and is an avid mentor that commits time to growing talent both within and outside of the bank, supporting female business leaders in her Canadian Banking Sponsor role on the Scotiabank Women Initiative, and with her steadfast devotion to community through several board and volunteer roles, including Jack.org.

Lesly completed her MBA at Dalhousie University, is a graduate of the Executive Leadership Program at Duke University, and is a Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers. Lesly and her husband Dave have two teenaged sons who keep them very active and energized.
