Senior Speakers Julia Wickens (she/her) Ontario Julia Wickens (she/her) is a recent graduate of engineering at McMaster University. She believes that mental health is important for everyone, including those who have never experienced a mental illness. She is passionate about advocating for equal access to appropriate mental health resources for everyone in Canada. When Julia isn't talking about mental health, you can usually find her taking pictures of sunsets and buying too many scented candles. Interest and Motivation to Become a Senior Speaker Julia has been a Jack Talks Speaker for five years and it's an experience that she has really enjoyed and gotten a lot out of. Julia is excited to be able to take on a more senior role in the program to not only continue to grow and have new experiences but also to be able to share her passion for mental health on an even wider scale. Training and Professional Development Interests Julia is excited for the opportunities to learn and improve on skills in media relations. Her current career path is in sales so she would also love to further develop the skills that she already has been working on as a speaker, such as tailoring information to specific audiences and more conversational/unscripted speaking. Speaking Experience As a seasoned speaker, Julia has delivered Talks to various audiences such as adults and diverse populations.
