Jack.org's thirteen Network Representatives serve their peers from coast-to-coast-to-coast, and that comes with intense training and a jam-packed weekend in Toronto. Play video Jack.org Network Rep training weekend: it's not easy. This September, Jack.org HQ had the absolute pleasure of hosting all thirteen Network Representatives for a weekend in Toronto—our Network Reps come from all over the country and work on behalf of the 2,800+ young leaders revolutionizing mental health from coast-to-coast-to-coast. This year we have representation from all three territories as well as francophone Canada, and a world-changing level of dedication and skill. In advance of the training weekend, Reps are asked to do comprehensive research on mental health in their region so they can accurately represent its interests and become experts in their communities. Over the course of the weekend, they're given media training, invited to contribute to our five-year strategy, introduced to every nook and cranny of Jack.org programming, and generally prepped for the year ahead. We exchange knowledge and brainstorm tactics for sustainable advocacy across the network. This year the Reps were all given disposable cameras to capture their weekend. The results were pure gold and they will be all over Instagram very soon. We know that the mental health landscape in Canada varies widely—the barriers young people face are different in every community we work with. Part of the weekend’s beauty is that we learn how much our Network Reps reflect that. They bring their unique stories, identities and experiences to the table as leaders in a movement that needs to work for all of us. Their feedback and ideas are especially important as we gear up for our 2020 National Summit, where 250 of our most passionate young leaders from across the country will get together to share ideas and experiences, and strategize on how to improve mental health outcomes across Canada. We really couldn’t be more excited to watch our big plans take shape. A huge thank you to RBC Foundation and Leading Edge Payroll Group, whose support makes this incredible weekend possible, and to our inspiring young leaders for being the heart of what we do at Jack.org. We wouldn’t get far without you. Meet the 2020 Network Reps
